The terms governing your use of Hosting Finder.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Hosting Finder ("the site"), at hostfitcheck.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
The site is a free, independent comparison tool. There is no account, no subscription and no payment, and nothing here creates a commercial relationship between you and the site's operator.
2. What the site provides
Hosting Finder compares web hosting providers on price, renewal price and specifications, and produces a recommendation from four questions you answer.
It is an information and comparison tool. It is not a broker, a reseller, or an agent for any hosting provider. It does not sell hosting, take bookings, or form part of any contract between you and a provider. Any purchase you make is entirely between you and that provider on their terms.
3. Accuracy and no warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
In particular, no warranty is given that:
- Pricing is current, complete or correct. Hosting prices, promotions and contract terms change frequently and without notice, and every figure here is researched manually.
- Renewal prices are accurate. Renewal rates are often not published, and vary by plan, region, promotion and negotiation. Figures shown are a researched indication, not a quotation.
- Currency-converted prices reflect what you will be charged. Prices are stored in USD and converted approximately; conversion excludes local taxes and may not match the provider's own regional pricing.
- Specifications, features or limitations are complete or current.
- Any recommendation is suitable for your circumstances. It is generated from four questions and cannot account for requirements you have not been asked about.
- The site will be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
Always confirm the current price, the contract term it requires, the prepayment involved and the renewal rate on the provider's own site before purchasing. You are responsible for verifying any figure you rely on. Do not treat this site as the sole basis for a purchasing decision.
4. No professional advice
Content here is general information, not professional advice. Hosting choices can carry consequences for security, data protection, regulatory compliance and business continuity. Where those matter, take advice appropriate to your situation rather than relying on a comparison tool.
5. Advertising and commercial disclosure
The site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over the comparison, the rankings or the recommendation logic.
At the time of writing the site contains no affiliate links. Links to providers are plain links and the operator receives nothing if you sign up.
Should affiliate links be introduced, they will be clearly labelled where they appear and disclosed on the about page, and they will not alter rankings, the recommendation logic or which providers are included. The about page states which funding model is in effect at any time.
No hosting provider can purchase inclusion, placement, ranking or a favourable description.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the site for any lawful purpose, including commercial research, and may share links to it freely.
You must not interfere with or disrupt the site or its infrastructure; use automated systems in a way that imposes unreasonable load; scrape or systematically extract the comparison data for republication as a competing dataset without attribution; remove or obscure advertising or attribution; or present the site's output as endorsed by or originating from any hosting provider.
7. Intellectual property
The site's text, design, code, guides, and the selection, arrangement and presentation of its comparison data are the property of the operator.
You may quote short extracts from the guides with attribution and a link, and reference individual figures with attribution. Wholesale reproduction requires permission — ask, as it is usually granted.
Underlying factual pricing information is not claimed as proprietary; it originates from the providers and is publicly available from them.
8. Third-party trademarks
All provider names, product names, logos and brand marks referenced here are the property of their respective owners, and are used solely for identification and nominative comparison. Hosting Finder is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or in partnership with any hosting provider listed.
9. External links
The site links to third-party websites, principally hosting providers. Those sites are outside the operator's control and no responsibility is accepted for their content, accuracy, availability, terms, pricing or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement or a recommendation to purchase.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, business or anticipated savings, arising from your use of the site — including any loss arising from reliance on a price, renewal figure, specification or recommendation obtained here, or from your dealings with any hosting provider.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Because the site is provided free of charge, any aggregate liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use the site (nil) or GBP 50.
11. Privacy
Quiz answers and preferences are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to the operator. The privacy policy explains this, the geo-IP currency lookup, and third-party advertising cookies, and forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent revision, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. The site's content, features and availability may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your local law.
14. General
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full effect. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the site.
